On June 26th, the United States Congress, on a vote of 219-212 passed the largest tax increase in American history in a "critical need to save the planet" (the original intent - According to Nancy Pelosi-  migrated to "job creator" by Democrats as the message showed weakness with Americans).  Not one of the Congressmen who voted for this measure read the bill.  They could not have.  The final bill (download HR 2998 Amended Substitute 1,400+ pages) was filed with the Government Printing office at 3:09 AM on June the 26th.  Amazingly, as the House debated the bill, there was not even a complete copy of the Bill on the floor of the U.S. Congress.  To their credit, the Republicans attempted to stop the debate and the vote on this basis, but Democrat Henry Waxman (D, CA) and Speaker Pro Tem, Ellen Taucher (D, CA) refused to do so.

So, 219 Representatives, who voted for a bill they had never seen, did not have a copy of and could not have known the full import of, voted in the affirmative to kill 2.8 million jobs annually and to impose a hidden tax equating to approximately $3,900 annually on every family of four in the United States after the first 10 years.  Now it is true that they are going to structure some rebate mechanism to lessen the burden on the most poor among us, but everyone pays higher taxes under the bill.  Every time you turn on a light switch, every time you start your car, buy a shirt, a quart of milk, a pound of meat, a flat screen television, you will pay a hidden tax.  Money that will be raised by the auction of permits to burn hydrocarbon based fuels, will flow to the Government, who will use the money (after paying to create a monstrous bureaucracy to administer the tax and collect it) to, among other things:

• Pay "adjustment allowances of 70% of their average weekly wage  (welfare to you) to workers whose jobs have been destroyed by the bill (Sec. 426, page 926  - funny outcome for a "jobs" bill)
• Pay up to 80% of any such affected workers health insurance premium while he is "retraining" (backdoor to a public option Socialized Health Care System).
• Pay  "to fund the ‘Energy Refund Program’, (more welfare) under which eligible low-income households are provided cash payments to reimburse the households for the estimated loss in their purchasing power resulting from the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009." (copied verbatim from the Bill, Sec 2201, page 1010). Does this sound like a good thing to you?
• Under Title II, Pay to create a massive bureaucracy to impose the California Energy Code on the entire United States (and even add more stringent provisions if the Secretary (or Czar) of Energy deems it necessary).  You are to be forced to admit this bureaucracy in to inspect your home and label it as to its energy efficiency and if... it does not measure up to standards created by the Department of Energy, you will be forced to pay to upgrade the energy saving features of the house (including changing the roof to a lighter color) in order to receive Federal permission to sell your home. (Will you pay money out of your pocket if you have no equity, to make these improvements?) How many foreclosures will this trigger?    (Title II Sec 204, page 362).
• Pay for a massive expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit and the indexing of the limits to inflation to automatically expand the EITC in outlying years (something they did not do for the Alternative Minimum Tax, so that now middle income households are trapped by that tax) (Sec 432, page 1,025).
• Pay funds into the Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid ponzi schemes annually to offset the revenues lost as a result of the Act. (meaning reduced payroll taxes from the jobs that it destroys).
• Transfer "40 percent and up to 60" of the auctionable allowances to "funds" that are directly controlled by the UN under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (yes folks, here it is the hidden UN tax Sec 493, page 1,186).   The funds under this section are specifically designed to transfer the wealth of the United States to "economies in transition" (Wikipedia entry on the Framework Convention On Climate Change).
• Pay for a "cash for mobile homes clunkers" provision in the form of a $7,500 voucher for owners of older mobile homes to purchase a new more energy efficient mobile home.(I wonder if they have to be volunteers for Obama's Service Corp or Members of Acorn)? (Sec. 203, page 248)

Other fatal flaws in this bill are that it excludes Oil and Nuclear Energy as vital, effective components in a National Energy Policy already dependent on these forms of energy and transfers a great deal of our sovereignty over these matters to the UN, without the ratification of a treaty.  These are just some of the more onerous provisions.  When you analyze it carefully, you cannot conclude that HR 2998 (formerly HR 2454)  is anything other than the most massive tax increase in U.S. History which will kill millions of jobs, transfer massive sums of wealth to China, India and third world countries while extending the oppressive grip of the Federal Government into the direct control of all private property. 

Actually, it is a jobs bill.  It will transfer millions of U.S. Jobs overseas when companies discover they will have to move jobs overseas in order to be able to survive in the competitive world of a globalized trading system.  It means sure-fire economic pain for everyone in the United States.  But then, their real aim in passing this bill is to "atone" for American Exceptionalism over the last 233 years by subjugating our treasure and our children's future and freedom to oppressive regimes who do care not one wit about the future of the United States.

Hence, my Cap & Traitors title at the top.  Your Congressman swore an oath when the 111th Congress convened.  The text of that oath is as follows:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God

Your Congressman could not have "faithfully" discharged his duties under the oath if they did not read this bill.  If your Congressman voted for this bill, you need to call him and ask him why he failed to "faithfully" discharge his duty, and vote for a bill that transfers vast amounts of American treasure to unknown parties though a UN controlled entity?  This is important, even though this bill passed in the House.  It is also important to let your Senators know that you consider that anyone who voted for that bill did not with "faithfully" execute their duty to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

I watched this debate on live TV.  It was one of the most disgusting spectacles I have ever witnessed.  Several times, in what the House terms a Colloquy (one member engages the currently authorized speaker in a two way conversation as part of the debate) several members came to the floor to force Henry Waxman (managing the bill for the Democrats during debate) to clarify the terms of payoffs that had been made to them in the bill One member Alan Grayson (D, FL) was so brazen as to ask for a $ 50.0 million dollar earmark for his district on live TV.  Even more shocking was Waxman authorized it.  Even if it is only $5.00, make sure you donate to Alan Grayson's Primary opponent if there is one and surely give more to his GOP opposition.  He is a stain on the United States Congress.

We can still defeat this bill.  It will have a difficult time in the Senate.  However, I suspect the Democrats floated a really ugly trial balloon to get the seeds of the Socialistic provisions passed in a watered down version in the Senate, that will then go to Conference Committee for reconciliation between the House and Senate versions.  That means there will be another vote in the House and two opportunities in the Senate to defeat this bill.  Defeat it we must. Your children's and grand children's freedom and economic well being are critically linked to defeating this bill.

You must engage yourself in the fight if we are to have any hope of stopping this monstrous, job killing freedom squashing bill.  You have to call, FAX and otherwise challenge your Senator and Congressman to defeat this bill.  Be forceful.  when you call, call all the members of your state delegation.  Find a zip code in their district (use the local district office zip code) and use it when they ask you where you live.
